Welcome to St. Luke's Church

St Luke’s is family-friendly church situated close to the city centre

It is a place where people of all ages are welcome and where we look out for each other

We are a prayerful congregation and use a wide range of hymns both old and modern

We seek to proclaim the gospel through our words and actions

We love to welcome people to our church and also to our coffee mornings and our fayres.

The church was consecrated for worship in 1845. Built in the Early English style, it comprises a chancel, knave north aisle and north and west porches, the latter having been added in 1878. There is also an incomplete tower. In 1847 an organ chamber was built and an organ introduced. The church was extensivley refurbished, in 1981 and plans are underway to re-furbish the kitchen and re-decorate the hall.

MAKING A DONATION

the easiest way to give is to ask you to choose one of the means of giving through the Diocese of Lichfield that will then be passed onto the church you choose: Receiving Donations Online - Diocese of Lichfield (anglican.org)

For reference, the churches may appear by their local parish names: Birches Head, St. Matthew; Cobridge, Christ Church; Hanley, St. Luke (Wellington); Northwood, Holy Trinity; Shelton, St. Mark.  The parish name for the team ministry that covers all five churches is Hanley, The Holy Evangelists, though this may not appear in all lists that are intended for specific churches.
